Does the sweet spot mechanic apply to the weapon art as well? Dragonslayer Spear is a Weapon in Dark Souls 3. I think I found the true strength of this weapon and why it is nerfed.I tested it on my current build which have 40STR 25DEX 50FAI. The earliest form of the cross spear, serving as both a sword and a spear. Archdragon Peak: original Vanilla location This weapon is categorized as a Boss Weapon. Killed the big serpentbois with a weapon-art + one or two extra-stabs. A dragon hunting weapon from the age of the gods. Weapon art is amazing paired with the Leo ring every time i use it I end up doing 1100 damage or slightly less, How much does the faith scaling affect damage? My target is NG++ Lothric Knight near the warriors of sunlight altar.I need to mention that, whenever a lightning spear(includes GLS and SLS) hits in melee range, a thunder bolt will come down and deal additional damage. Durability: The weapon's HP, when the durability hits 0, the effectiveness of its attacks become weakened to the point of almost uselessness. That's really odd it says "Ornstein" then says "of the eldest born" but wouldn't it be "and" instead of "of" if they're the same. A dragon hunting weapon from the age of the gods. It doesn't, Lore wise it doesn't measure up, game wise it's poor and mechanically it's doesn't. And that buff lasts 60 seconds, so if you main this weapon, just discard that lightning blade/ any other buff away, because all those int/ faith points are useless. if you hit all softcaps and wear the leo and lightning clutch(I know unheard of) the weapon art can hit upwards of 1000 on players, more in pve. Stability: How well the player keeps stance after being hitAttack Type: Defines what kind of swing set the weapon has: Regular(R), Thrust(T), Slash(Sl), Strike(St), the faith scaling only impacts the lightning damage on the weapon and on a 40/40 quality build this weapon actually has the highest AR of any spear so you could fail the stats on this weapon and it'd STILL be good, What I love about this weapon is the weapon arts sunlight blade buff. Overall, it has the best weapon art among almost every "charge" weapon art damage wise, and you don't even cost your stamina and FP in the follow up to poll that out. Oh, D.S S.S is the first Cross Spear and wielded by the Nameless King? In essence, it has varied moves and it can make good use of the Leo Ring with running R1s, 2H R2s and Jump Attacks. A weapon of the gods imbued with the strength of lightning.Two-handed thrust utilizes the support of the cross and requires great might, but can pierce deep into the flesh of dragons, and send mere men flying.Skill: Lightning ChargeCharge with spear at waist to enwreathe with lightning, then release bolts with final thrust. Pokey poke ornstein spear for the win! It's moveset is glaive which is good but has a lot of recovery times that those backstab fishers will abuse. I played around with it a lot in both PvE and PvP (Dex/Faith build) and I've found the weapon isn't bad, but it's not great. If only you could fight even a little like the Nameless King with this, shared attacks, I mean. at this point the weapon does not perform at it's best.Weight: How much the item weights when equipped. This one is bad, damage low, scaling bad and misleading. Dragonslayer spear build > sl 150 vig 39 att 9 end 40 vit 33 str 30 dex 40 int 9 fth 9 luck 27 I would like to focus on the Dragonslayer spear (ornsteins) Any build recs beyond what I've posted ? The effect happens otherwise only when it hits an enemy, NPC or a player! I know, it is absolutely terrible for this weapon, but I just want to test. ( if it is in Ds2 shout at me) I can't understand why from changes so many things about there weapons. The one guy people thought was an illusion from some reason despite the fact I've killed him after killing Gywndolin. Lore. Really wierd to say Ornstein but not the eldest borns name and reference them as seperate... Reading and logic is for people who want to make sense. Rolling attacks are spear/glaive (They share one-handed rolling attacks). If you use it right, this thing hits like a fucking truck. Two-handed thrust utilizes the support of the cross and requires great might, but can pierce deep into the flesh of dragons, and send mere men flying. You should only use the follow up when you need more physical damage, but in that case you shouldn't even choose this weapon. Its owner was the Nameless King, a deific hunter of dragons. Remember Thunderfury, blessed blade of the windseeker? You have to be careful while using it. Scaling quality is from highest to lowest as follows: S/A/B/C/D/E.The higher the player's [Str, Dex, Mag, Fire, Light] stat, the higher the [Attack Bonus: Stat] is (found on the player status screen). souls and 1 Titanite Slab to +5. With a lightning clutch ring and high faith, there are a whole lot of good combos you can use with this. Never managed to send anyone flying with r2 and haven t found any video about it. Also, I figured out how to land the thunderbolt every time: just do not use the R2 follow up for the weapon art. 1 Lore 2 Skill 3 Availability 4 Moveset 5 Notes 6 Upgrades l Lightning Charge - Charge with spear at waist to enwreathe with lightning, then release bolts with final thrust. After this it became the hazardous Falling Bolt again and i came here for answers. To fix this, remove the fallout+76+, and it will work again. Sure the spear isnt super overpowered one shot a havel monster anymore, doesnt mean its bad. Further test:On a 40/40/10/60 build, the full weapon art(with thunder bolt) did 1250 damage on Harald Knight. On a 40/40/10/10 build, the full weapon art(with thunder bolt) did 1021 damage on Harald Knight. On the other hand, on a 40/25/50/50 build(which is my current main character), a Gargoyle Flame Spear full weapon art only does 796 damage on Harald Knight. It is pretty clear that the normal attack on this weapon is not as good as the Gargaoyle's, but the weapon art is destructive if you do it right. Its 2 poky pokes deal decent damage and can weapon art combo while this thing can't because of its massive windup, and that if your opponent does dodge it (npc or pvp) your left open to an attack or maybe 2, which can be fatal if they are packing an ultra. I'm the one who did those tests before and now I got something new: On a NG++ pontiff knight (not weak to lightning target) the dragonslayer spear weapon art took 7/8 of its HP, and the sword spear weapon art only does slightly more than half of its HP. The higher the scaling letter, the higher the percent multiplier applied to the [Attack: Stat].This resulting bonus damage is added to the base physical damage of the weapon and is shown in the equipment screen in blue numbers as a "+ X". Cross spear associated with Ornstein the Dragonslayer. Durability: The weapon's HP, when the durability hits 0, the effectiveness of its attacks become weakened to the point of almost uselessness. Also, this thing's weapon art can deal enormous amounts of damage if it hits properly... Bad thing the weapon art never hits properly.
