Evidently this receiver needs to figure a bunch of things out before it decides to let the user see anything at all, and then when you do get your input device showing, there's a full-width black box across the bottom 1/3 of the screen confirming source info. Once setup, everything auto identified itself when I hooked it up via HDMI. The receiver has ample HDMI inputs, and I've had no handshake or passthrough issues with any of my other devices. It automatically plays Bluetooth audio from my phone in stereo rather than attempting to make it "surround". The HDMI 2.1 inputs pass 4k with no problem and the eARC has automated lipsync technology that works great with my LG TV. I have a Monoprice 5.1.2 speaker setup with top-firing speakers for the Atmos setup.
