• Blissville residents expressed their anger over a plan to open a third homeless shelter in the area during a community meeting.

• LIRR service was suspended for four branches after a fire broke out near the train tracks in Hollis.

• An off-duty firefighter rescued a grandmother and two children from a burning home in Jamaica.

• M and R trains are running with delays in both directions because track maintenance at Forest Hills-71 Av.

• Southbound D trains are running express from Tremont Av to 145 St because of a train with mechanical problems at 167 St.

• 7 Flushing-bound trains make local stops at 33, 40, 46, 52, 69 and 74 Sts.
