• Vice President Pence laid out plans for the president’s proposed Space Force, which would become the sixth military branch.

• First Lady Melania Trump’s parents were sworn in as U.S. citizens in New York.

IN QUEENS
• A man was found beaten to death with a mouth full of dirt in Astoria as police seek to question his ex-girlfriend’s new boyfriend.

• A man’s body was discovered floating in the East River off College Point.

• Police arrested a man for allegedly vandalizing numerous subway trains and discovered an arsenal of weapons in his apartment.

• 2 trains are running with delays in both directions because of switch problems at Wakefield-241 St.

• No A trains running to Far Rockaway-Mott Av.

• No S Rockaway Park Shuttle service at Broad Channel.

• N and R trains are running with delays in both directions because we’re doing maintenance work between Coney Island-Stillwell Av and 59 St (Brooklyn).

SCOREBOARD
• The Yankees (71-42) topped the White Sox, 7-3. New York hosts the Rangers tonight at 7:05 p.m.

• The Mets (47-65) blanked the Reds, 8-0. The Mets are off tonight before starting a weekend series in Miami.

• Football’s back! The Giants host a preseason game against the Browns at 7 p.m. The game will be broadcast on WNBC, but don’t expect to see OBJ.

• Demi Lovato officially canceled her remaining “Tell Me You Love Me” tour dates after checking into rehab.
