• Coastal flood warnings were issued for Southern Queens, Brooklyn, and Staten Island as Hurricane Jose is expected to stay off-shore.

Queens News
• A motorcyclist was killed after he lost control of his bike and struck a teen girl in Flushing.

• City officials are calling for stronger regulations on private bus companies after a fatal collision bus collision in Flushing.

• A Glendale church and a Queens lawmaker are collecting school supplies and food for those in need.

Subway Status 

• Some northbound 4 and 5 trains are running local from Grand Central-42 St to 125 St, because of signal problems at 59 St.
• Some northbound 5 trains will run on the 2 line from Nevins St to 149 St-Grand Concourse. Expect delays in northbound 2, 4, 5 and 6train service.

• Southbound E and F trains are running with delays due to a train with mechanical problems at Forest Hills-71 Av.
Due to switch problems at 9 Av, the following service changes are in effect:

• Northbound D trains local from 36 St (Bklyn) to Atlantic Av-Barclays Ctr.

• Northbound N trains local from 59 St (Bklyn) to Atlantic Av-Barclays Ctr.

• Delays on Grand Central Pkwy eastbound between Exit 4 – I-278; West B-Q Expwy and 94th St.

• Delays on I-678 southbound between 69th Rd; Ramp and Linden Blvd.

• Delays on I-678 northbound between Belt System – Southern Pkwy and Exit 8 – Main St.

• Delays on I-278 westbound between Metropolitan Ave; Williamsburg Bridge and Exit 28A – Old Fulton St; Cadman Plaza West.

• Delays on I-278 eastbound between Exit 29A – Manhattan Bridge and Queens-Kings County Line; Koskuisko Bridge.

• The Mets (65-85) were crushed by the Marlins, 13-1. They take on the Marlins in Miami again at 7:10 p.m.

• The Yankees (83-67) narrowly topped the Twins, 2-1. They continue their pivotal three-game series with the Twins at 7:05 p.m.

• The Giants (0-2) fell to the Detroit Lions, 24-10.
